Juniperus rigida boasts graceful tree form and dense foliage,making it an excellent choice for courtyard trees,landscape trees,and street trees,as well as a superior gardening species in Shanxi Province.The cultivation of seedlings and the planting of larger saplings are crucial steps in promoting the application of Junipe-rus rigida in landscaping.This article introduces the biological characteristics of Juniperus rigida and summarizes its sowing and seedling-raising techniques,encompassing seed selection and treatment,site selection and bed preparation,sowing,and post-sowing management.Furthermore,it details the planting techniques for larger saplings of Juniperus rigida from three aspects:pre-planting preparation,planting process,and post-planting man-agement.The aim is to provide technical support for further enhancing the ornamental value and ecological func-tions of Juniperus rigida in landscaping.
