First Flush and Initial Split-Flow Time in the Initial Rainfall:A Case Study of Urban Roads in Xuzhou City
The judge of first flush is a key event on the pollution control of urban runoff, and the initial split-time contributes a lot to the application of runoff source control in sponge city. This paper use M(V)curve method(cumulative rate ratio curve of pollut-ant load compared with runoff)to analyze the five capital runoff pollutions, such as SS,COD,NH3-N,TN,TP of urban roads in Xu-zhou City. And it made a comparision among the relevent water quality standards and analyzced the initial utility and split-flow of runoff. The results indicate that the initial runoff of urban roads has significant effects on first flush in Xuzhou City, and increased on SS,COD,TP,NH3-N,TN in order. The initial flush effects of SS increased with the increase of rainfall intensity and the initial flush effects of COD,NH3-N,TN and TP decreased with the increase of rainfal intensity.20 minutes after runoff can be used as the initial split-flow time of urban roads in Xuzhou City. This study provided a basis for controlling pollution from the source in sponge cities.
