Plant Species Diversity of Karst Small Wetland:A Case Study of the National Wetland Park of Aha Lake in Guiyang
To better evaluate the effect of vegetation restoration in the terraced small wetland of the Aha Lake Wetland Park, the plant species composition, cover, density, community structure, and α and β diversity characteristics were investigated and analyzed by the quadrat methods at 66 sample sites located in three different plant configuration areas of the small wetland(A,B and C).The study results show that there are 23 wetland plants, which can be classified into 7 plants community types.Wetland vegetation cov-er and plant density both show a trend of C>A>B,while α-diversity index shows another trend of A>B>C.The vegetation communi-ty type of Alisma plantago-aquatica+Iriswilsonii+Schoenoplectus tabernaemontani usually has a high α-diversity index and number of associated species, while the small wetlands with Zizania latifolia,SchoenoplectustabernaemontaniorAlisma plantago-aquatica as the dominant species and with high vegetation density and cover usually have a low α-diversity index and low number of compan-ion species. The community types of Alisma plantago-aquatica + Zizania latifolia and Typha orientalis + Schoenoplectustabernaemon-tani have the greatest β-diversity index and the greatest variability in species composition with the other community types. The re-sults of the data analysis suggest that the effects of mixed planting of Zizania latifolia,SchoenoplectustabernaemontaniorAlisma plan-tago-aquatica on the reduction of biodiversity should be carefully considered when selecting plant configurations for small wetlands at a later stage.
