"太虚"阴阳一物,是湛然无形清通的气."天"为气化之天,是阴阳两分后对立统一的气.因均为阴阳之气,所以两者同质.因从阴阳一物气化为阴阳两分,所以"太虚"先于"天"、生出"天"."天"分有形与无形,阴阳之气贯通其间,造就宇宙的大化流行.有形之天与地交感化生万物,是为"天地之大义"之一;有形之天地因能够化生万物成为宇宙大化流行的核心支点,是为"天地之大义"之二.张载所"立"意指于此.
Abstract
"Taixu",undivided by yin and yang,is invisible,fluid and clear qi,whereas"tian"(heaven)is qi that is divided and united by yin and yang.As taixu and tian are both qi related with yin and yang,the two are the same in essence.Due to the transformation from qi as oneness to qi divided by yin and yang,taixu is precedent of tian,and generates tian.Tian is both tangible and intangible,through which qi of yin and yang penetrates,generating milliards of things in the universe.It is one of the"great righteousness of heaven and earth"that tangible tian reacts with earth,generating milliards of things;it is another point of the"great righteousness of heaven and earth"that tangile tiandi(heaven and earth)is the core supporting point for the operation and movements of all things in the universe due to its ability to generate milliards of things.This is what Zhang Zai attempts to establish.
