Carotid artery CTA assessed the degree of carotid atherosclerosis stenosis and its correlation with serum Lp-PLA2 and ANCPTL8 levels
Objective:To investigate the correlation of carotid artery computed tomography angiography(CTA)to the degree of carotid atherosclerosis stenosis and the levels of serum lipoprotein-associated phospholipase A2(Lp-PLA2)and angiopoietin-like protein 8(ANCPTL8).Methods:A total of 155 patients with carotid atherosclerosis combined with carotid artery stenosis were selected as the combined group, and divided into mild group(n=50),moderate group(n=38)and severe group(n=67)according to the severity of the disease, and 92 patients with sim-ple carotid atherosclerosis were selected as the non-combined group.Serum Lp-PLA2 and ANCPTL8 levels in pa-tients with carotid artery stenosis of different severity were compared, and the risk factors of carotid artery stenosis in patients with carotid atherosclerosis were analyzed by multivariate Logistic regression.Digital subtraction angiogra-phy(DSA)was used as the gold standard to analyze the evaluation value of CTA in detecting the degree of carotid artery stenosis. Results:Compared with DSA,CTA showed no significant difference(P>0.05).Compared with mild group, the serum levels of Lp-PLA2 and ANCPTL8 in moderate group and severe group were significantly increased(all P<0.05);compared with moderate group, the serum levels of Lp-PLA2 and ANCPTL8 in severe group were significantly increased(all P<0.05).There were no significant differences in age, sex, smoking history,hyperlipi-demia,serum high density lipoprotein and low density lipoprotein levels between the two groups(all P>0.05).The proportion of patients with hypertension, diabetes, coronary heart disease, serum Lp-PLA2 and ANCPTL8 levels in the combined group were significantly higher than those in the non-combined group(all P<0.05).Hypertension,di-abetes,coronary heart disease, high serum Lp-PLA2 and ANCPTL8 levels were risk factors for carotid artery steno-sis in patients with carotid atherosclerosis(all P<0.05).Serum Lp-PLA2 and ANCPTL8 levels were highly correla-ted with the degree of carotid artery stenosis, and were negatively correlated with them(all P<0.05).Conclusion:Carotid CTA has a high value in evaluating the degree of carotid artery stenosis, and serum Lp-PLA2 and ANCPTL8 levels are highly correlated with the degree of carotid artery stenosis.Hypertension, diabetes, coronary heart disease, high serum Lp-PLA2 and ANCPTL8 levels are risk factors for carotid artery stenosis in patients with carotid athero-sclerosis.
