Correlation Between Serum SOX9 Level and Clinicopathological Features and Prognosis of Gastric Cancer
Objective To investigate the relationship between serum SOX9 level and clinicopathological features and prognosis of patients with gastric cancer. Methods 85 patients with gastric cancer were included in the gastric cancer group,60 patients with chronic gastritis were included in the chronic gastritis group, and 60 healthy volunteers were included in the control group.Serum SOX9 protein was detected by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay(ELISA).To analyze the relationship between SOX9 level and clinicopathological features and prognosis of gastric cancer. Results The difference of serum SOX9 level among the 3 groups was statistically significant(P<0.05).The level of SOX9 in gastric cancer group was higher than that in the control group and chronic gastritis group, while the level of SOX9 in chronic gastritis group was higher than that in control group, with sta-tistical significance(P<0.05).Serum SOX9 level was correlated with tumor differentiation, lymph node metastasis, clinical stage, depth of invasion and Lauren's classification(P<0.05),while serum SOX9 level was not correlated with patient gender and age(P>0.05).The AUC of serum SOX9 level was 0.942 and 95%CI was 0.921~0.982 in gastric cancer group and con-trol group, and 0.842 and 95%CI was 0.782~0.913 in gastric cancer group and chronic gastritis group. With SOX9 level of 46.0 ng/mL as the critical value, the sensitivity of the diagnosis of gastric cancer was 88.1%,the specificity was 88.5%,and further diagnosis of early gastric cancer, the AUC was 0.755,the sensitivity was 72.5%,the specificity was 70.1%.Conclusion Serum SOX9 level is related to the clinicopathological features and prognosis of gastric cancer. It can be used to diagnose gastric cancer and predict the prognosis of patients.
