Analysis of SLC26A9 Gene Expression in Gastric Mucosa of Gastric Cancer or Chronic Atrophic Gastritis
Objective To analyze the expression of SLC26A9 gene in gastric mucosa of gastric cancer or chronic atroph-ic gastritis(CAG).Methods 200 patients received re-examination due to past history of CAG were retrospectively analyzed.A-mong the the patients,69 cases with CAG were included in gastritis group,40 cases with low-grade gastric mucosal epithelial neo-plasia were selected as low-grade neoplasia group,34 cases with high-grade gastric mucosal epithelial neoplasia were classified as high-grade neoplasia group,and 57 cases with gastric cancer were assigned to gastric cancer group.The patients in gastric cancer group were divided into early stage group(n=31)and advanced stage group(n=26)according to the degree of progression of gastric cancer.Gastric mucosa SLC26A9 gene expression level was detected among all 200 patients,and the SLC26A9 gene ex-pression level in gastric mucosa was compared among gastritis group,low-grade neoplasia group,high-grade neoplasia group and gastric cancer group.The expression level of SLC26A9 gene in gastric mucosa was also compared between early stage group and advanced stage group.Logistic correlation analysis model was used to analyze the correlation between the expression level of SLC26A9 gene in gastric mucosa and the occurrence and progression degree of gastric cancer.Receiver operating characteristic curve(ROC)was adopted to analyze the diagnostic value of gastric mucosa SLC26A9 gene expression on gastric cancer.ROC curve was also applied to analyze the judgement value of SLC26A9 gene expression on progression degree of gastric cancer.Re-sults There was a significant difference in the expression level of SLC26A9 gene in gastric mucosa among gastritis group,low-grade neoplasia group,high-grade neoplasia group and gastric cancer group,and the expression level was shown as gastritis group>low-grade neoplasia group>high-grade neoplasia group>gastric cancer group(P<0.05).The expression level of gastric mucosa SLC26A9 gene in early stage group was significantly higher than that in advanced stage group(P<0.05).According to logistic correlation analysis,the expression level of SLC26A9 gene in gastric mucosa was negatively correlated with the occurrence and progression degree of gastric cancer(P<0.05).The area under the ROC curve(AUC),95%CI,sensitivity,specificity and cut-off value of gastric mucosa SLC26A9 gene expression level were 0.935,0.892-0.965,91.23%,87.41%and 0.2787 in the diagnosis of occurrence of gastric cancer,and were 0.881,0.768-0.952,92.31%,80.65%and 0.2368 in the diagnosis of gastric cancer progression degree.Conclusion The expression level of SLC26A9 gene in gastric mucosa is closely related to the occur-rence of gastric cancer,and it can be used for clinical diagnosis of disease deterioration to gastric cancer in patients with CAG and the degree of gastric cancer progression.
