Application of Oral Prosthesis in Reconstruction of Oral Function in Patients with Unilateral Maxilla Defect After Malignant Tumor Surgery
Objective To investigate the value of oral prosthesis in reconstruction of oral function in patients with unilat-eral Maxilla defect after malignant tumor surgery. Methods 80 patients with unilateral defect of Maxilla after malignant tumor surgery were selected, and oral function reconstruction was performed with oral prosthesis. The subjective clinical effect evalua-tion,oropharyngeal sealing effect and speech articulation of patients were recorded. Results Among 80 patients with unilateral defect of Maxilla after malignant tumor surgery,57 cases were excellent(71.25%),20 cases were good(25.00%),and 3 cases were poor(3.75%).The excellent and good rate of subjective clinical effect evaluation was 96.25%(77/80).One month after repair, the oropharyngeal sealing effect of 80 patients was better than before repair, and their language clarity was higher than be-fore repair, with a statistical difference(P<0.05).Conclusion Oral prostheses can significantly improve the mastication,oro-pharynx closure and voice function of patients with unilateral Maxilla defect after malignant tumor surgery. It has a relatively good effect of oral function reconstruction, safe and feasible, and has high clinical application value.
