Expressions and Clinical Significance of PI3K and NF-κB p65 Proteins in Cervical Cancer Tissues
Objective To explore the expressions and clinical significance of phosphatidylinositol-3-kinase(PI3K)and nuclear transcription factor κB(NF-κB)p65 proteins in cervical cancer tissues. Methods A total of 62 patients with cervical cancer were enrolled as the research objects. The cervical cancer and para-carcinoma tissues were collected to detect expressions of PI3K and NF-κB p65 proteins by immunohistochemical staining. The positive REG4 and Sp1 proteins in cervical cancer and para-carcinoma tissues were compared. The correlation between PI3K,NF-κB p65 proteins and clinicopathological parameters was analyzed. Results The differences in positive expression rates of PI3K and NF-κB p65 proteins between cervical cancer tissues and para-carcinoma tissues were statistically significant(62.90%,69.35%vs 0%,0%,P<0.05).There was no significant difference in positive expressions of PI3K and NF-κB p65 proteins among patients with different age, pathological classifications and tumor diameter(P>0.05).The positive expression rates of PI3K and NF-κB p65 in patients with FIGO staging at stages Ⅲ~Ⅳ were 76.92%and 82.05%,higher than those at stages Ⅰ~Ⅱ(39.13%,47.83%,P<0.05).The positive expression rates of PI3K and NF-κB p65 were the highest in patients with low differentiation(83.33%,94.44%),followed by medium dif-ferentiation(61.11%,63.89%)and high differentiation(25.00%,37.5%;P<0.05).The positive expression rates of PI3K and NF-κB p65 in patients with lymph node metastasis were86.96%and 95.65%,higher than those without metastasis(48.72%,53.85%;P<0.05).Correlation analysis showed that expression levels of PI3K and NF-κB p65 proteins were positively correla-ted with FIGO staging and lymph node metastasis, while negatively correlated with differentiation degree(P<0.05).Conclusion The positive expression rates of PI3K and NF-κB p65 proteins in cervical cancer tissues are higher than those in normal para-car-cinoma tissues, which are positively correlated with FIGO staging and lymph node metastasis, while negatively correlated with dif-ferentiation degree. The two indexes have certain clinical significance for the diagnosis and treatment of cervical cancer.
