Predictive Value of Ultrasound Elasticity Score Combined with Serum Thyroglobulin Level in Elderly Thyroid Cancer Patients
Objective To analyze the utility of combining ultrasound elasticity score and serum thyroglobulin(Tg)levels in predicting the treatment prognosis of elderly thyroid cancer(TC)patients. Methods 76 elderly patients with TC were select-ed,and all underwent preoperative ultrasound examination and ultrasound elasticity score.Measure the patient's serum Tg levels one year after surgery, and analyze the ultrasound elasticity score and serum Tg levels for different clinical and pathological fea-tures;Simultaneously draw the receiver operating curve(ROC)and analyze the efficacy of ultrasound elasticity score and serum Tg level alone and in combination in predicting postoperative lymph node metastasis in elderly TC patients;Compared the progression free survival time of patients with different ultrasound elasticity scores and serum Tg levels. Results The preoperative ultrasound elasticity score of patients with postoperative lymph node metastasis was higher than that of those without lymph node metastasis. The serum Tg level of patients with postoperative lymph node metastasis was higher than that of those without lymph node metasta-sis one year after surgery, with a statistical difference(P<0.05).The ROC results showed that the combined detection of ultra-sound elasticity score and serum Tg level predicted the area under the curve(AUC)of postoperative lymph node metastasis in eld-erly patients with TC,which was higher than the 2 methods tested separately. The progression free survival of elderly TC patients with ultrasound elasticity score<3.5 and serum Tg level<24.995 μg was higher than that of patients with ultrasound elasticity score≥3.5 and serum Tg level≥24.995 μg,there was a statistical difference(P<0.05).Conclusion The combination of ul-trasound elasticity score and serum Tg level measurement can predict the treatment prognosis of elderly TC patients.
