The Expression of MTA2 and SET8 Proteins in Laryngeal Carcinoma and Their Relationship with Clinicopathologic Features
Objective To investigate the expression of MTA2 and SET8 proteins in laryngeal carcinoma and their rela-tionship with clinicopathological features. Methods 205 patients with laryngeal cancer were collected as research objects, and MTA2 and SET8 positive proteins were detected by immunohistochemical staining, and the mRNA expression levels of MTA2 and SET8 were detected by Real-time PCR.To analyze the relationship between the expression of MTA2 and SET8 proteins and clini-copathological features of laryngeal carcinoma patients.Spearson correlation analysis of MTA2 protein and SET8 protein expres-sion.Results The positive expressions of MTA2 and SET8 proteins in the laryngeal cancer group were significantly higher than those in the paracancer group by 56.10%and 54.15%,with statistical significance(x2=27.926,P<0.001;x2=28.277,P<0.001).The mRNA expression levels of MTA2 and SET8 in laryngeal cancer group were higher than those in adjacent cancer group, and the differences were statistically significant(t=25.005,P<0.001;t=20.390,P<0.001).The positive expression of MTA2 and SET8 proteins in laryngeal cancer tissues was not related to gender, age, smoking or not,and clinical type(P>0.05),but were related to lymph node metastasis, pathological grade and clinical stage(P<0.05).Spearson correlation analysis showed that the expression of MTA2 protein was positively correlated with that of SET8 protein(y=0.477,P<0.05).Conclusion The expression of MTA2 and SET8 proteins increased significantly in laryngeal cancer, and they are closely related to the development of laryngeal cancer, indicating that they may be potential diagnostic molecules.
