Expressions and Clinical Significance of MSLN and ERBB2 in Epithelial Ovarian Cancer Tissues
Objective To analyze the expressions and clinical significance of mesothelin(MSLN)and tyrosine kinase receptor-2(ERBB2)in epithelial ovarian cancer tissues. Methods The clinical data of 92 patients with epithelial ovarian cancer were retrospectively analyzed.According to 1-year follow-up results, the patients were divided into poor prognosis group(n=37)and good prognosis group(n=55).The differences in MSLN mRNA and ERBB2 mRNA in tumor tissues were compared between the 2 groups. The predictive efficiency was assessed, and the differences in the expressions of MSLN mRNA and ERBB2 mRNA in epithelial ovarian cancer tissues with different clinicopathological characteristics were compared.COX regression model was ap-plied to analyze the relationship between the above indicators and progression-free survival time of patients. Results Compared with poor prognosis group, the expression levels of MSLN mRNA and ERBB2 mRNA in good prognosis group were lower(P<0.05).The expression levels of MSLN mRNA and ERBB2 mRNA could be used to predict the prognosis, and the corresponding cut-off values were 1.42 and 2.47 respectively, and the progression-free survival time was longer among patients with low expres-sions of MSLN mRNA and ERBB2 mRNA(P<0.05).The expression levels of MSLN mRNA and ERBB2 mRNA were signifi-cantly correlated with lymph node metastasis and tumor differentiation(P<0.05).Conclusion The expressions of MSLN and ERBB2 in epithelial ovarian cancer tissues are closely related to the prognosis and clinicopathological characteristics of patients, and they can be used as reference basis for the formulation of early diagnosis and treatment strategies.
