Correlation Analysis of VEGF and P53 Expression with Lymph Node Metastasis and Prognosis in Esophageal Cancer
Objective To analyze the relationship between the expression of vascular endothelial growth factor(VEGF)and P53,and lymph node metastasis, and prognosis in esophageal cancer. Methods 120 patients with esophageal cancer were se-lected,and specimens of their cancer tissue(observation group)and adjacent normal tissue(control group)were collected. The expression differences of VEGF and P53 between the 2 groups were measured using immunohistochemistry;Collect patient data and analyze the relationship between the positive expression of VEGF and P53 and the clinical and pathological characteristics of esophageal cancer; In addition,a 3-year follow-up was conducted to analyze the relationship between the positive expression of VEGF and P53 and the prognosis of esophageal cancer patients. Results The positive rates of VEGF and P53 in the observation group were 69.17%(83/120)and 75.00%(90/120),respectively,which were higher than 33.33%(40/120)and 31.67%(38/120)in the control group, with statistically significant differences(P<0.05);The positive expression of VEGF and P53 was correlated with lymph node metastasis,TNM staging, differentiation degree, and maximum tumor diameter(P<0.05);The survival rate of patients with positive expression of VEGF and P53 was lower than that of patients with negative expression, and the differ-ence was statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion VEGF and P53 are highly expressed in esophageal cancer tissue, and their expression levels are correlated with clinical and pathological features such as lymph node metastasis,TNM staging,differen-tiation degree, and maximum tumor diameter.Positive expression patients have a poorer prognosis.
