Changes of Red Cell Volume Distribution Width/albumin Ratio in Patients with Gastric Cancer Before Operation and Its Clinical Significance
Objective To investigate the changes of red cell volume distribution width and albumin ratio(RDW/Alb)in patients with gastric cancer before operation and its clinical significance. Methods Retrospective analysis was conducted to col-lect the clinical data of 53 patients with gastric cancer with good prognosis and included in the good prognosis group. In addition, the clinical data of 53 patients with gastric cancer with poor prognosis were collected and included in the poor prognosis group. The baseline data of the selected patients were reviewed by the researchers and detailed statistics were made. The expression of preoperative RDW/Alb in the 2 groups was observed. The relationship between preoperative RDW/Alb and the prognosis of lapa-roscopic radical gastrectomy in patients with gastric cancer was analyzed. The receiver operating characteristic(ROC)curve was drawn to analyze the predictive value of preoperative RDW/Alb ratio for the prognosis of laparoscopic radical gastrectomy in pa-tients with gastric cancer. Results The proportion of TNM stage Ⅲ a in the poor prognosis group,as well as the preoperative RDW,RDW/Alb and carcinoembryonic antigen(CEA)were higher than those in the good prognosis group, and the preoperative Alb was lower than that in the good prognosis group, the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).There was no statistical significant difference between the 2 groups in age, sex, body mass index, tumor location, operation time and intraoperative bleeding(P>0.05).The results of COX survival regression analysis showed that TNM stage Ⅲ a,preoperative RDW,RDW/Alb ratio and CEA high expression were risk factors for the prognosis of patients with gastric cancer after laparoscopic radical gastrectomy(HR>1,P<0.05).The high expression of Alb before operation was its protective factor(HR<1,P<0.05).The ROC curve was drawn, and the results showed that the AUC of preoperative RDW,Alb,and RDW/Alb ratios in predicting the prognosis of patients undergoing laparoscopic radical gastrectomy for gastric cancer was more than 0.7,which had a certain predictive value,of which the RDW/Alb ratio had the highest predictive value. Conclusion Preoperative RDW/Alb ratio of patients with gastric cancer is related to the prognosis of patients with gastric cancer after laparoscopic radical gastrectomy, and can be used as a prognostic indi-cator for patients with gastric cancer.
