Expression and Clinical Significance of Smo and Gli1 Protein in Eyelid Basal Cell Carcinoma
Objective To investigate the expression and clinical significance of Smo and Gli1 protein in eyelid basal cell carcinoma(EBCC).Methods 40 patients with eyelid basal cell carcinoma were selected as the study subjects.Immunohisto-chemical methods were used to detect the expression of Smo and Gli1 protein in the cancer tissues and adjacent tissues of EBCC patients. The data questionnaire was designed to make detailed statistics on the basic data of the selected patients, analyze the ex-pression of Smo and Gli1 protein in the tissues of EBCC patients with different pathological characteristics, and analyze the prog-nosis of patients with eyelid basal cell carcinoma with different expression of Smo and Gli1 protein in tissues was analyzed.Re-sults The positive expression rate of Smo protein in the tissues of EBCC patients was significantly higher than that in the normal mucosa around the cancer(P<0.05);The positive expression rate of Gli1 protein in the tissues of EBCC patients was significant-ly higher than that in the normal mucosa around the cancer(P<0.05);There was no statistically significant difference in the ex-pression of Smo and Gli1 protein in the tissues of patients with different sex, age,BMI and disease site(P>0.05);The expression of Smo and Gli1 protein in the tissues of patients with different tumor differentiation levels was significantly different(P<0.05);Log-rank test showed that the recurrence rate of Smo and Gli1 protein negative patients within 1 year was significantly lower than that of positive patients(P<0.05);Kendall's tau-b correlation analysis showed that the expression of Smo protein in tissues was positively correlated with the expression of Gli1 protein(γ=0.350,P=0.010).Conclusion The positive expression rate of Smo and Gli1 protein in EBCC tissue is higher, which can be used as a marker for early diagnosis of EBCC;The expression level of Smo and Gli1 protein is related to the degree of differentiation, and is closely related to the prognosis of EBCC,which can provide a reference for the development and prognosis evaluation of eyelid basal cell carcinoma.
