The Expression and Significance of CTLA-4 and STAT3 in Cervical Squamous Intraepithelial Lesions and Cervical Cancer Tissues
Objective To analyze the expression and significance of cytotoxic T lymphocyte antigen-4(CTLA-4)and signal transduction and transcription activating factor 3(STAT3)in cervical squamous intraepithelial lesions(SIL)and cervical cancer(CC)tissues. Methods 42 patients with chronic cervicitis,61 patients with SIL,and 65 patients with CC were included in the control group,SIL group, and CC group, respectively.Cervical exfoliated cells were collected from all patients using a dedica-ted human papillomavirus(HPV)specimen sampling brush, and the expression of CTLA-4 and STAT3 in all patients was detected by immunohistochemistry; At the same time, collect general information from all patients and analyze the relationship between the positive expression of CTLA-4 and STAT3 and the clinical and pathological characteristics of patients. Results The positive ex-pression rates of CTLA-4 and STAT3 in the CC group were higher than those in the SIL group and the control group, and the posi-tive expression rates of CTLA-4 and STAT3 in the SIL group were higher than those in the control group, with statistical signifi-cance(P<0.05);The expression of CTLA-4 and STAT3 is related to the pathological grading of SIL patients and the Internation-al Federation of Obstetrics and Gynecology(FIGO)staging of CC patients(P<0.05);The expression of CTLA-4 and STAT3 is not related to the age of SIL patients, while CTLA-4 and STAT3 are not related to the age, lymph node metastasis, pathological type, and depth of cervical muscle wall infiltration in CC patients(P>0.05).Conclusion CTLA-4 and STAT3 are abnormally expressed in the body of SIL and CC patients, and their positive expression rates continue to increase with the increase of disease grade and stage.
