Detection and Clinical Significance of Serum Lipids and Apolipoprotein B in Patients with Multiple Myeloma
Objective To explore the levels and clinical significance of serum lipids and apolipoprotein B(Apo B)in patients with multiple myeloma(MM).Methods 199 patients with MM were selected as the study group, and 125 healthy people were included in the control group. The differences in serum lipids were compared between both groups. The patients were divided into poor prognosis group(ISS stage Ⅲ)and good prognosis group(ISS stage Ⅰ~Ⅱ)according to the International Staging Sys-tem(ISS)after chemotherapy. The risk factors of prognosis in patients with MM were analyzed by logistic regression analysis.ROC curve was used to evaluate the predictive efficiency of serum lipids on prognosis in patients with MM.Results The levels of TC,Apo A1,Apo B,HDL-C and LDL-C in the study group were lower than those in the control group(P<0.05).There were statisti-cally significant differences in age, hemoglobin(Hb),serum creatinine(Scr),TC,Apo A1,Apo B and LDL-C between the two groups(P<0.05).Logistic regression analysis showed that TC,Apo B and LDL-C were independent risk factors affecting the prognosis in patients with MM.ROC curve analysis revealed that the AUCs of TC,Apo B and LDL-C were significantly higher than the reference line(AUC>0.7,P<0.05).Conclusion Compared with control group, serum lipids are lower in study group, and age,Hb,Scr and blood lipids are closely related to the prognosis in patients with MM.Serum TC,Apo B and LDL-C levels have high clinical value on evaluating the prognosis in patients with MM.
