Efficacy of Buxu Huoxue Analgesic Formula for Internal Use Combined with External Application of Traditional Chinese Medicine in the Treatment of Advanced Lung Adenocarcinoma Cancer Pain
Objective To explore the effect of Buxu Huoxue Analgesic Formula for internal use combined with external application of traditional Chinese medicine in the treatment of advanced lung adenocarcinoma cancer pain,and summarize the ex-perience of integrated traditional Chinese and western medicine treatment.Methods This study was a prospective randomized controlled trial.104 patients with advanced lung adenocarcinoma cancer pain were randomly divided into the control group and the observation group,with 52 patients in each group.The control group was treated with conventional western medicine,and the ob-servation group was treated with Buxu Huoxue Analgesic Formula for internal use combined with external application of traditional Chinese medicine on the basis of the control group.Seven days was a course of treatment,and both groups were treated for two courses of treatment.The evaluation indicators included TCM symptom score,pain severity,pain mediators and occurrence of ad-verse reactions.Results During the study period,2 cases were excluded from both the observation group and the control group,and the final study was completed with 50 cases each in the observation group and the control group.After two courses of treat-ment,the scores of TCM symptoms in the two groups were significantly decreased,and the scores of TCM symptoms in the observa-tion group were lower than those in the control group,the difference was statistically significant(P＜0.05).After 1 and 2 courses of treatment,the visual analogue scale(VAS)score of both groups significantly decreased,and the observation group was lower than the control group,the differences were statistically significant(P＜0.05).After two courses of treatment,the levels of seroto-nin(5-HT),prostaglandin E2(PGE2),and endothelin-1(ET-1)in both groups significantly decreased,and the observation group was lower than the control group,the differences were statistically significant(P＜0.05).There was no statistical significant difference in the total incidence of adverse reactions between the two groups(P＞0.05).Conclusion Buxu Huoxue Analgesic Formula for internal use combined with external application of traditional Chinese medicine can effectively improve the symptoms of patients with advanced lung adenocarcinoma cancer pain,reduce the degree of pain and lower the level of pain mediators,with good drug safety.
