Comparison of Qualitative Diagnostic Value of Conventional Ultrasound Modified IOTA Simple Rule and Contrast-enhanced Ultrasound on Ovarian Tumors
Objective To compare the effects of conventional ultrasound modified International Ovarian Tumor Analysis(IOTA)simple rule and contrast-enhanced ultrasound in the qualitative diagnosis of ovarian tumors. Methods Retrospective a-nalysis was conducted on the data of 70 patients with suspected malignant ovarian tumors who underwent routine examination. All patients received conventional ultrasound modified IOTA simple rule diagnosis and contrast-enhanced ultrasound. With pathologi-cal diagnosis as the standard, the qualitative diagnostic value of the two and combined examination on ovarian tumors was judged, and the characteristics of conventional ultrasound and contrast-enhanced ultrasound in patients with benign and malignant ovarian tumors were compared. Results The pathological diagnosis of 70 suspected patients included 27 malignant cases(38.57%)and 43 benign cases(61.43%).Modified IOTA simple rule diagnosed 41 benign cases,22 malignant cases and 7 uncertain cases, and the sensitivity, specificity and accuracy rate of qualitative diagnosis of ovarian tumor were 62.96%,83.72%and 75.71%respec-tively.There were statistical differences in ultrasound characteristics between patients with malignant ovarian tumors and patients with benign ovarian tumors(P<0.05).37 cases were benign and 33 cases were malignant by contrast-enhanced ultrasound, and the sensitivity, specificity and accuracy rate of qualitative diagnosis of ovarian tumors were 88.89%,79.07%and 82.56%.The contrast-enhanced ultrasound imaging characteristics and quantitative parameters revealed statistical differences between patients with malignant ovarian tumors and benign patients(P<0.05).Combined examination diagnosed 44 benign cases and 26 malig-nant cases, and the sensitivity, specificity and accuracy rate were 77.78%,88.37%and 84.29%,respectively.Conclusion Both conventional ultrasound modified IOTA simple rule and contrast-enhanced ultrasound have good effects in the qualitative di-agnosis of ovarian tumors, and each method has its own advantages and disadvantages.Combined examination is helpful to reduce misdiagnosis and missed diagnosis caused by single examination and enhance the diagnostic efficiency.
