Prognostic Value of Negative Lymph Nodes in Invasive Breast Cancer
Objective To analyze the prognostic value of the number of negative lymph nodes in patients with invasive breast cancer(IBC).Methods A retrospective analysis was conducted on the medical records of 84 patients with IBC,and the number of negative lymph nodes detected was counted. The relationship between the number of lymph nodes and the clinical path-ological characteristics and prognosis of IBC patients was analyzed. Results A total of 648 negative lymph nodes were detected in 84 IBC patients, with 7.7 nodes detected per person; After rounding off the 7.7 negative lymph nodes detected per capita, all pa-tients were divided into 2 groups with a cut-off value of 8 negative lymph nodes.Among them, there were 38 cases in the group with negative lymph nodes≥ 8 and 46 cases in the group with negative lymph nodes<8.There was no statistically significant difference in age,BMI,and disease type between the 2 groups(P>0.05);In the group with negative lymph nodes ≥8,the pro-portion of TNM patients in stages Ⅰ to Ⅱ and adjuvant chemotherapy patients was 78.95%(30/38)and 68.42%(26/38),respec-tively,which was higher than the 34.78%(16/46)and 28.26%(13/46)in the group with negative lymph nodes<8,and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05);The one-year survival rate of the group with negative lymph nodes ≥8 was 92.11%(35/38),which was higher than the 73.91%(34/46)of the group with negative lymph nodes<8,and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion The number of negative lymph nodes is closely related to the prognosis of patients with IBC.If the number of negative lymph nodes is small, the prognosis of patients with IBC is poor.
