Expression of PCNP and TGF-β 1in Adenoid Cystic Carcinoma of the Salivary Gland and Analysis of its Correlation with Clinicopathological Characteristics
Objective To explore the expression of PCNP and TGF-β1 in salivary adenoid cystic carcinoma(SACC)tis-sues and its relationship with clinical pathological characteristics. Methods 58 SACC patients were selected, and all patients un-derwent surgical treatment.During the surgery, cancer tissue and adjacent normal tissue were collected for examination.Immuno-histochemical SP staining was used to detect positive expression of PCNP and TGF-β1 in both tissues. The relationship between expression of PCNP and TGF-β1 and patients'age, gender, body mass index, tumor location, lymph node metastasis, tumor size, and nerve invasion were analyzed. Results The positive expression rate of PCNP and TGF-β1 in cancer tissues was higher in the control group, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05);PCNP positive,TGF-β 1 positive patients with tumor size≥3 cm,and nerve invasion had higher proportion than PCNP negative and TGF-β1 negative patients, the difference is statistically significant(P<0.05);Age,gender,body mass index, tumor location, lymph node metastasis status of PCNP and TGF-β1 positive patients and PCNP and TGF-β1 negative patients, the difference was not statistically significant(P>0.05).Conclusion PCNP and TGF-β1 is highly expressed in SACC tissue, and closely related to tumor size and neural invasion, and may provide new direc-tions for clinical treatment.
