Expression and Clinical Significance of IGF-1 and IGFBP-3 in the Serum of Non-small Cell Lung Cancer Patients
Objective To investigate the expression and clinical significance of insulin-like growth factor-1(IGF-1)and insulin-like growth factor binding protein-3(IGFBP-3)in the serum of non-small cell lung cancer(NSCLC)patients.Methods 84 NSCLC patients were selected as the lung cancer group,and 84 patients with benign lung diseases were selected as the control group.Collect 4 ml of abdominal venous blood from all patients on the 2nd day of admission,and use a fully automated chemilumi-nescence immunoassay analyzer to detect serum IGF-1 and IGFBP-3 levels.Compare the differences in serum IGF-1 and IGFBP-3 between the 2 groups of subjects,and analyze the relationship between serum IGF-1 and IGFBP-3 expression and clinical patho-logical characteristics of NSCLC patients.Results The serum IGF-1 level in the lung cancer group was higher than that in the control group,while the IGFBP-3 level was lower than that in the control group,with statistical differences(P<0.05);There was no statistically significant difference in serum IGF-1 and IGFBP-3 levels among NSCLC patients of different ages,genders,tumor sites,maximum tumor diameter,pathological types,and differentiation levels(P<0.05);The serum IGF-1 levels inT1~T2 andⅠ~Ⅱ stage NSCLC patients with local invasion were lower than those in T3~T4 and Ⅲ stages,while IGFBP-3 levels were high-er than those in T3~T4 and Ⅲ stages.The serum IGF-1 levels in patients with lymph node metastasis were higher than those in T3~T4 stages,and IGFBP-3 levels were lower than those in T3~T4 stages,with statistical differences(P<0.05).Pearson analy-sis showed that serum IGF-1 levels were positively correlated with local invasion,TNM stage,and lymph node metastasis in NSCLC patients(P<0.05),while serum IGFBP-3 levels were negatively correlated with local invasion,TNM stage,and lymph node metastasis in NSCLC patients(P<0.05).Conclusion The expression of serum IGF-1 and IGFBP-3 levels in NSCLC pa-tients is abnormal,and their levels are related to the degree of local invasion,TNM staging,and lymph node metastasis of the pa-tient.
