Logistic Regression Analysis of Risk Factors Related to Incidence of Occupational Lung Cancer Among Coke Oven Workers
Objective To investigate the incidence of occupational lung cancer among coke oven workers and analyze its risk factors. Methods A total of 2042 registered male coke oven workers from 6 coking plants in a certain region were randomly collected as the study subjects, and their incidence of occupational lung cancer was analyzed. The basic data of the age, body mass index(BMI),marital status, education level, smoking, drinking, history of respiratory diseases, family history of lung cancer, length of service, type of work, tea drinking habits, exercise habits and other basic data of the workers were collected through the self-de-signed Questionnaire on the Occurrence and Influencing Factors of Occupational Lung Cancer among Coke Oven Workers,Logistic regression analysis was applied to identify the risk factors for occupational lung cancer among coke oven workers. Results A total of 2042 coke oven workers were included in this study, with a loss of follow-up rate of 3.04%(62/2042),the incidence rate of occupational lung cancer among 1980 coke oven workers was 2.73%(54/1980).The results of univariate analysis showed that age, smoking, history of respiratory diseases, length of service, and type of work were all related to the occurrence of occupational lung cancer among coke oven workers(P<0.05);the results of multivariate Logistic regression analysis showed that age≥50 years old,a history of respiratory diseases, long length of service, and type of work as furnace top workers were all independent risk factors for occupational lung cancer among coke oven workers(P<0.05).Conclusion The incidence rate of occupational lung cancer among coke oven workers is high.Age≥50 years old, history of respiratory diseases, long length of service, and type of work as furnace top workers are all risk factors for occupational lung cancer among coke oven workers.Factories should pay more attention to coke oven workers with the above factors and strengthen protection measures for coke oven workers to reduce the inci-dence of occupational lung cancer among coke oven workers.
