Expression Levels of Serum Golgi Protein 73 and Claudin-1 in Patients with Gastric Cancer and Their Clinical Significance
Objective To investigate the expression levels of serum Golgi protein 73 and claudin-1 in patients with gas-tric cancer and their clinical significance. Methods Serum levels of GP73 and claudin-1 in 76 patients with gastric cancer(gas-tric cancer group)and 30 healthy subjects(control group)were detected by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay(ELISA).The difference of serum GP73 and claudin-1 levels between the two groups was compared, and the clinical efficacy of serum GP73 and claudin-1 levels in differential diagnosis of gastric cancer was evaluated by receiver operating characteristic(ROC)curve. The re-lationship between serum levels of GP73 and claudin-1 and clinicopathological features,Overall Survival(OS)and Progression-Free Survival(PFS)of gastric cancer was analyzed. Results The levels of serum GP73 and claudin-1 in gastric cancer group were lower than those in control group, and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).ROC curve analysis showed that the optimal cut-off value of GP73,sensitivity 83.20%and specificity 85.73%were 21.18µg/L for the diagnosis of gastric cancer. The best cut-off value of claudin-1 was 0.72 ng/ml,the sensitivity was 82.16%,and the specificity was 84.44%.Accord-ing to the cutoff values of serum GP73 and claudin-1 levels, they were divided into high and low expression groups.GP73 high ex-pression group,claudin-1 high expression group and GP73 low expression group,claudin-1 low expression group had statistically significant differences in invasion depth, differentiation degree, tumor size, histological type and TNM stage(P<0.05).Survival a-nalysis showed that the overall survival rate(28.21%)in the low GP73 expression group was lower than that in the high GP73 expression group(59.46%)(P<0.05),and the progression-free survival rate(20.51%)in the low GP73 expression group was lower than that in the high GP73 expression group(40.54%)(P<0.05).The overall survival rate of low claudin-1 expression group(31.58%)was lower than that of high claudin-1 expression group(57.89%)(P<0.05).The progression-free survival rate in low claudin-1 expression group(21.05%)was lower than that in high claudin-1 expression group(36.84%)(P<0.05).Conclusion The serum levels of GP73 and claudin-1 in patients with gastric cancer are significantly decreased, which are related to malignant pathological features and poor prognosis, and can be used as potential serum oncology indicators for the diagnosis of gastric cancer.
