Expression Levels and Clinical Significance of Tmem16a,E-cadherin and SIRT1 in Eyelid Basal Cell Carcinoma
Objective To analyze the expression levels of transmembrane protein 16a(Tmem16a),cadherin E(E-cad-herin)and silence-information regulator 1(SIRT1)in eyelid basal cell carcinoma and their clinical significance. Methods 70 patients with basal cell carcinoma of the eyelid confirmed by pathological examination were included in the study group, and their pericancerous tissues were included in the control group. The recurrence was observed after 36 months follow-up.The expression levels of Tmem16a,E-cadherin and SIRT1 in cancer tissues and pericancerous normal tissues were compared, and the expression levels of Tmem16a,E-cadherin and SIRT1 in cancer tissues of patients with different gender, age and pathological characteristics were compared.Relationship between the expression levels of Tmem16a,E-cadherin,SIRT1 and recurrence in cancer tissues.Re-sults The expression levels of Tmem16a,E-cadherin and SIRT1 in cancer tissues were higher than those in normal tissues(P<0.05).Compared with patients aged ≤60 years, the expression levels of Tmem16a,E-cadherin and SIRT1 in cancer tissues of pa-tients aged ≥60 years were higher(P<0.05).The expression levels of Tmem16a,E-cadherin and SIRT1 were higher in eyelid basal cell carcinoma patients with tumor volume ≥3 cm3,vascular invasion and differentiation(P<0.05).The recurrence rate of patients with basal cell carcinoma with positive expression of Tmem16a was 44.44%(16/36),which was higher than that of pa-tients with negative expression[20.59%(7/34)],P<0.05.The recurrence rate of patients with basal cell carcinoma with posi-tive expression of E-cadherin was 56.67%(17/30),which was higher than that of patients with negative expression[15.00%(6/40)],P<0.05.The recurrence rate of patients with eyelid basal cell carcinoma with SIRT1 positive expression was 40.00%(22/55),which was higher than that of patients with negative expression[6.67%(1/15)],P<0.05.Conclusion The positive expression levels of Tmem16a,E-cadherin and SIRT1 in patients with eyelid basal cell carcinoma are higher, and their expression is closely related to pathological features, age and recurrence, which can provide reference for evaluating the progression and prog-nosis of the disease.
