Expression of MMP9,AEG-1 and EphA7 Proteins in Middle Ear Squamous Cell Carcinoma and Their Clinical Significance
Objective To investigate the expression and significance of matrix metalloproteinase-9(MMP-9),astrocyte promoter gene-1(AEG-1)and tyrosine protein kinase receptor A7(EphA7)in middle ear squamous cell carcinoma. Methods 65 patients with middle ear squamous cell carcinoma were selected as the study subjects, all of whom underwent surgical treat-ment.The expression of MMP-9,AEG-1 and EphA7 protein in cancer tissues and adjacent normal tissues were detected during the operation, and the above expression differences were compared between cancer tissues and adjacent normal tissues. The relation-ship between the expression of MMP-9,AEG-1 and EphA7 protein and the pathological characteristics of age, sex, tumor stage, lymph node metastasis and differentiation was analyzed. Results The positive expression rates of MMP-9,AEG-1 and EphA7 proteins in cancer tissues were higher than those in adjacent normal tissues, with statistical significance(P<0.05).Patients with positive expression of MMP-9,AEG-1 and EphA7 protein had higher proportion of stage Ⅲ~Ⅳ and lymph node metastasis than those with negative expression, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion MMP-9,AEG-1 and E-phA7 proteins are highly expressed in middle ear squamous cell carcinoma, and their expression is closely related to tumor stage and lymph node metastasis, which may be a new target for clinical treatment.
