This paper analyzes the news report on a CCTV anchorwoman mispronouncing the English word "B2C" as "Ber C" from the perspective of language standardization. It points out the necessity of replacing the English word "B2C" in Chinese news reports with a standard term translation. Analysis of existing translations was performed with the assistance of authoritative dictionaries and corpora. This paper concludes that "qiye dao xiaofeizhe" ( literally, "business to consumer" ) is not a good choice as a general term and should preferably be replaced by the shorter "shang dui ke". Further analysis on its advantages and applications were also made at the end.
