Abstract
Among all the English translations of Guangzhou Metro Stations, most names are translated by Chinese Pinyin, which takes 75.4%. Although it has revealed the principle "Adaptation to Original Names" , and retained China's characteristic cultures in the disassimilation translation strategy, the practical value is not actually high, and it has not achieved the true goal of English translations of Metro Stations. So the English translations of Guangzhou Metro Stations still have many to discuss. The synthetical analysis indicates that some translations are spelling mistakes, some are the mistranslations by obvious understanding, and some involve the deep cultural connotation. Therefore, when translating stations, we need the comprehensive consideration to reveal its real meaning, but could not rely on Chinese Pinyin excessively for convenience.
