An Examination and Suggestions for the Main Concerns Regarding Offshore Wind Power Energy Storage Configuration
When offshore wind power is widely integrated with the grid, one of the most important ways to address problems with peak load control, frequency regulation, and even power system stability is to configure offshore wind power's energy storage. However, policies on such design published by many local governments across China lack a detailed analysis of the necessity for the energy storage configuration, the soundness of storage proportions, and the economics of supporting mechanisms. This paper summarizes and analyzes the current state of energy storage application, domestic and international policies on such issues, energy storage methods, and offshore wind power application scenarios, with a focus on the key issues of offshore wind power's energy storage configuration. After that,it offers the methodologies for configuring offshore wind power storage as well as the necessity analysis. Finally, suggestions are made from a variety of perspectives, including standards, the market, technology, and legislation.
