Evaluation Methods and Development Direction of Microscopic Residual Oil by Water Flooding in Low Permeability Sandstone Reservoirs
As the focus of water injection development in old oil fields at home and abroad, low permeability sandstone reservoirs have enormous development potential. In the context of long-term water flooding, the water content of low permeability sandstone reservoirs is increasing and the difficulty of exploitation is also increasing. To fully develop low-permeability sandstone reservoirs and increase the oil recovery, the microscopic pore structure of the reservoir is the basis of study. Therefore, this paper, based on literature review, summarized the evaluation methods for the microscopic pore structure in low-permeability reservoirs, the research methods of seepage mechanism and residual oil description during water flooding, and the influence of water flooding surfactants on residual oil and the displacement mechanism. It finds that the existing microscopic pore structure evaluation methods are basically qualitative lack quantitative evaluations, the existing microscopic seepage mechanism and residual oil description methods have room to further optimize, and surfactants need better performances on the conditions of high temperature and high salinity. The paper finally elaborates the future evaluation methods and development directions of micro residual oil by water flooding to provide directional suggestions for the research of low-permeability sandstone reservoirs.
