In order to study the effect of volume fraction of graphite on microstructure and mechan-ical properties of composites, graphite flake/aluminum composites with different volume fraction of graphite were prepared by vacuum hot pressing sintering technology and perform performance tests on it.The results show that the graphite flake are uniformly distributed in the composites, and the o-rientation is highly concentrated. With the increase of graphite volume,With the increase of graphite flake volume, the hardness of the composites decreased from 45.01 HV to 35.64 HV;the tensile strength decreased from 150 MPa to 5 MPa;the bending strength decreased from 192.12 MPa to 25.04 MPa;and the fracture of the tensile and bending specimens was observed morphologically, and with the increase of volume fraction of graphite sheet, the fracture of graphite flake/aluminum composite changes from a mixture of toughness and brittleness to a complete brittleness fracture.Due to the increase of graphite volume and the gradual aggregation of squamous graphite extruding each other under pressure resulted in the decrease of mechanical properties of squamous graphite/a-luminum composites.
