Analysis on the registration of elderly patients with pulmonary tuberculosis aged 60 years and above in Zhuhai City from 2005 to 2022
Objective To analyze the epidemiological characteristics of elderly patients with pulmonary tuberculosis(PTB)aged 60 years and above in Zhuhai City from 2005 to 2022,and to provide basis for formulating tuberculosis prevention and control measures.Methods The medical records of elderly patients with PTB aged 60 years and above in Zhuhai City with registration date from January 1,2005 to December 31,2022 were derived from the Tuberculosis Management Information System.Excel 2013 and SPSS 26.0 were used for statistical analysis,and the test level wasα=0.05.Results From 2005 to 2022,a total of 2 760 elderly patients with PTB were registered in Zhuhai City,accounting for 12.97%of all cases.The proportion of elderly patients with PTB increased from 8.08%in 2005 to 21.76%in 2022,and the difference was statistically significant(x2trend=466.884,P<0.001).There were 2 100 elderly male patients,accounting for 76.09%.There were 927 cases(33.59%)aged 60-65 years,and 737 cases(26.70%)aged 66-70 years.The composition ratios of patients aged 60 years and above in tuberculosis of other sites,disease of other sites,retreatment,positive rate of etiological detection,positive rate of 0-month sputum smear and positive rate of 0-month sputum culture were higher than those of the group aged below 60 years,while the composition ratios of active detection,abnormal 0-month chest radiograph,negative conversion of sputum smear at the end of the second month,and cure or complete the course of treatment were lower than those in the group under 60 years old.Conclusions The proportion of registered elderly patients with PTB in Zhuhai City was increasing year by year.Health education,active screening and standardized diagnosis,treatment and follow-up management should be strengthened according to the epidemiological characteristics of PTB among the elderly.
