Investigation on the prevalence of anisakis infection in commercial marine fish and the awareness of anisakis infection among residents in Chongming District of Shanghai in 2023
Objective To investigate the infection status of anisakis larvae in commercial marine fish in Chongming District of Shanghai,to evaluate the awareness of anisakiasis among local residents,and to provide reference for the prevention and control of anisakis infection in the future.Methods Anisakis larvae were detected by necropsy in 179 commercial marine fish samples in Chongming District of Shanghai from May to October 2023,by using the standard operating procedures provided in the 2023 National Manual for the Risk Monitoring of Food Contamination and Harmful Factors.The basic information,awareness of anisakiasis and behavior of eating marine fish were collected from 302 residents in Chongming District through questionnaires.Excel 2016 and EpiData 3.1 software were used to input samples and questionnaire information,and SPSS 22.0 software was used for Chi-square test.P<0.05 was considered statistically significant.Results The total positive rate of anisakis in marine fish in Chongming District of Shanghai was 20.67%in 2023,and the positive rates of trichiurus haumbricoides,larimichthys polygoni,cyanomichthys polygoni and mullet were 77.27%,63.16%,45.45%and 37.50%,respectively.The positive rates of marine fish collected from Chengqiao Town,Chenjia Town,Xinhe Town,Changxing Town and Bao Town were 28.13%,15.15%,20.51%,20.00%and 20.00%,respectively.The awareness of anisakiasis among residents varied significantly with their different places of residence(x2=18.481,P=0.001),levels of education(x2=12.948,P=0.002),occupations(x2=16.107,P=0.001),the numbers of marine fish species consumed(x2=6.962,P=0.031),and food handling habits(x2=5.677,P=0.017),with statistically significant differences.Conclusions Although the infection rate of anisakis in seafood in Chongming District of Shanghai was not high,the awareness of anisakiasis prevention and control knowledge among local residents was limited,and health education and publicity of anisakiasis still need to be strengthened.
