Knowledge,attitude and practice survey on prevention and control of schistosomiasis in easy flooded area of Pujiang County in Sichuan in 2023
Objective To understand the current situation of schistosomiasis knowledge,attitude and practice among residents in easy flooded area of Pujiang County,to provide a scientific basis for carrying out targeted health education and publicity after the elimination of schistosomiasis.Methods In August 2023,an anonymous questionnaire survey was conducted among residents aged 10 years and over in 6 villages by using simple random sampling method in the easy flooded area of Shouan Street in Pujiang County.Microsoft Excel 2021 and SPSS 23.0 software were used for data sorting and statistical analysis.Chi-square test was used to compare the difference of knowledge,attitude and practice among different sex,age and occupation.The test level was α=0.05.Results The correct rate of residents'attitude,knowledge and practice towards schistosomiasis control in easy flooded area of Pujiang County was 81.67％,76.67％and 68.89％,respectively.The correct rate of residents'knowledge in the popular village(82.92％)was significantly higher than that in the non-popular village(64.17％)(x2=15.722,P＜0.001),and the correct rate of attitude in the popular village(76.25％)was significantly lower than that in the non-popular village(92.50％)(x2=14.109,P＜0.001).There was significant difference in the correct rate of knowledge of residents among different age of groups(x2=25.554,P＜0.001).There was significant difference in the correct rate of knowledge of residents among different occupations(x2=12.134,P=0.007).Conclusions In easy flooded area of Pujiang County,the correct rate of residents'attitude towards schistosomiasis control is higher,but the correct rate of their knowledge and practice is lower.Therefore,the health education and publicity on the prevention and control of schistosomiasis should be strengthened.
