Adaptation and Innovation:Translation of Doufu Culture Based on Variational Translation Theory
Doufu culture is a valuable legacy and integral part of traditional Chinese culture, facing challenges and dilemmas in the process of"going global"with Chinese culture.Drawing upon the theory of the variational translation theory, this paper explores the ways of translating and disseminating Doufu culture, proposing that the translation of Doufu culture should integrate various resources, explore innovative approaches, and adopt"adaptation"as a strategy and"innovation"as impetus.Simultaneously,it suggests that Doufu culture should be translated in a categorized and layered manner to meet the diverse needs and expectations of target language readers. Finally, through specific translation examples,it reaffirms the issue of the formal English translation name for Doufu and discusses how to utilize the eight adaptational techniques to conduct the translation activities of Doufu culture. The goal is to provide a new perspective and practical reference for the cross-cultural communication of Doufu culture.
