The study of the development laws of rural settlements is an important part of the transformation,reconstruction,and scientific planning of rural settlements.In the context of emphasizing cultural confidence and rural revitalization,the spatial gene theory provides a new perspective for the study of the development laws of rural settlements.Using CiteSpace knowledge graph software,a visual analysis of literature on spatial gene related research in rural settlements in China was conducted.A comprehensive knowledge graph was used to understand the stage characteristics and research hotspots in this field.On this basis,a research review and outlook on the development laws of rural settlements were proposed from three aspects which are spatial characteristics and value,evolution process and mechanism,and quantitative analysis.
