Study on the English Translation of National Minority Literature from the Perspective of Geo-Translation Studies:Taking Bruce Humes'Translation of The Last Quarter of the Moon as an Example
The Last Quarter of the Moon,is a novel written by China's famous writer Chi Zijian,which tells the century-long stories of the Ewenki ethnic group in Northeast China.It won the 7th Mao Dun Literature Award and has been translated into multiple languages,well acknowledged among overseas readers.This paper focuses on the English version of The Last Quarter of the Moon,analyzing the translator's emotions,translation strategies and methods from the perspective of geo-translation studies.It tries to illustrate approaches to reproducing the connotation and spirit of the original text and maintaining readers'better acceptance in the translation so that overseas readers can better understand the literature and culture of the Ewenki ethnic group in China.
