Study on Influence of Step Excavation in Ultrahigh Fill under Strong-seismic Condition in Mountainous Highway
In mountainous highways, the instability of steep slope filling is often manifested as the sliding of the filling along the foundation.Step excavation at the base of fill is an effective means to in-crease the stability of fill along the base. The Sarma Method in limit equilibrium is used to analyze the influence factors and parameter sensitivity of basement excavation steps of ultra-high fill in strong earthquake area, and the influence of step width and step inclination on the stability is compared after calculation. Results are as follows:①Reasonable excavation steps can dramatically increase stability coefficient of high fill slopes in strong-seismic areas;②The influence of step inclination on stability is obvious, and the stability coefficient of fill dramatically ascends with the increase of step inclination;③The influence of step size on stability is relatively minor, and the stability coefficient of fill slightly descends with the ascent of step size.④Step excavation is mainly aimed in situation with poor contact conditions between roadbed and bedrock to improve the anti-sliding ability.
