Study on Road Performance of Polyacrylamide Modified Saline Soil
Aiming at the problem of cracking in saline soil, polyacrylamide(PAM)was used as a wa-ter-soluble polymer to improve the compaction performance of saline soil-based highway subgrade fill-ers and the crack resistance of saline soil shells. The compressibility, microstructure and cracking morphology of saline soil untreated and treated with PAM were studied. The results showed that with the increase of PAM concentration, the liquid limit and plastic limit of the surface and depth of saline soil samples increased significantly, and the maximum dry density decreased with the increase of PAM concentration and plasticity, while the optimum water content of the two saline soil types did not change significantly.Quantitative analysis of the fracture mode showed that the increase of PAM re-duced the shrinkage strain and defects or pores in the saline soil.
