Study on Vortex-induced Vibration Performance of Long-span Flat Box Girder Bridge Without Wind Fairings for High-speed Railway
Due to the sensitivity of the aerodynamic shape of flat box girders without wind fairings to cross wind,it is of reference significance to carry out relevant research on wind resistance and aerody-namic shape. The vortex vibration performance of a flat box girder bridge without wind fairings dur-ing construction and completion was studied through wind tunnel test, and relevant vibration suppres-sion measures such as wind fairings and guide vanes were installed for practical engineering applica-tions.The effects of the above two measures on the overall aerodynamic characteristics and the effect of vibration suppression were systematically compared. The experimental results show that the verti-cal bending vortex vibration occurs at both-3° and+3° attack angles in the construction phase of the maximum single cantilever. The vorticity phenomenon can still be observed at+3° angle of attack. The smoke line test shows that the obvious vorticity of the structure in the single cantilever state dur-ing construction may be related to the separation and reattachment of the upper edge and the length of the wake alternating vortex shedding. After the installation of the wind fairings, the vertical bending vortex vibration at each angle of attack of the maximum single cantilever state in the construction stage is suppressed. After the installation of the guide vanes, the vortex vibration is significantly re-duced compared with the condition without vibration suppression measures. The vortex-induced vibra-tion performance of the box girder can be further improved by installing the wind fairings and guide vanes, and the effect of installing wind fairings are better.
