Research on the Impact of School Belongingness on the Willingness to Locally Employed of College Students and Countermeasures——A Case Study of Yancheng City,Jiangsu Province
Influenced by factors such as economic development transformation,industrial optimization and upgrading,and the reduction of demographic dividends,a talent war has begun among major cities in China.Currently,domestic talent competition strategies mainly involve economic policies and social services,with serious homogenization among strategies and mostly relying on unilateral efforts from local government.Universities are important growth environments for college students after their teenage years and have a significant impact on their behavior.Although many studies have indicated a connection between school belongingness and retention,a direct relationship between school belongingness and the willingness to seek employment in the location of the university has not been found yet.The research uses the School Belongingness Questionnaire(PSSM)to study the relationship between college students'school belongingness and their willingness to seek employment locally in G University in Yancheng City,Jiangsu Province.The study measured the dimensions of interpersonal relationships,school identification,and sense of safety on campus to examine the relationship.The study,based on the School Belongingness Questionnaire(PSSM),conducted an investigation on students from G University in Yancheng City,Jiangsu Province.It analyzed the relationship between college students'school belongingness and their willingness to seek employment locally,focusing on three dimensions:interpersonal relationships,school identification,and sense of safety on campus.The results revealed a positive correlation between school belongingness and the willingness to seek employment locally.In other words,the stronger the sense of school belongingness,the higher the willingness to pursue local employment.The study proposes the following strategies and suggestions:clearly define the city's talent positioning,conduct differentiated talent competition based on school belongingness,strengthen emotional bonds,enhance collaboration between the school,government,and businesses.
