Sorting out the impact of rural hollowing on the efficiency of agricultural production activities in the process of urbanization development is of great significance to promote rural revitalization,ensure food security and secure the"Chinese rice bowl".Based on 660 panel data from 60 counties in Anhui Province from 2010 to 2020,entropy method and DEA Malmquist index were used to calculate the degree of rural hollowing and agricultural production efficiency and to explore the relationship between rural hollowing and agricultural input-output efficiency.Research showed that the degree of rural hollowing in the sampling counties displayed a rising evolution and a slow expansion trend,and the areas with a higher degree of rural hollowing has increased.Rural hollowing had a significant impact on agricultural production efficiency,but the impact on different types of agricultural production efficiency varied.Rural hollowing also had a significant negative impact on agricultural technological progress and a significant positive impact on scale efficiency.However,the impact of rural hollowing on the agricultural element production and pure technical efficiency of agricultural production is not significant.It is proposed to strengthen the research and development as well as the promotion of agricultural technology,implement moderate and reasonable large-scale operation,and strengthen the introduction of agricultural technical talents,weakening the negative impact of rural hollowing on agricultural production.
