Research on the Evolution and Driving Factors of Vegetable Production Agglomeration Pattern in China's Provinces
China is the world's largest producer and consumer of vegetables which have become the most important part of people's daily diet and an important agricultural economic crop.Based on the vegetable production data of Chinese provinces from 2002 to 2020,this study uses methods such as standard deviation ellipse, spatial autocorrelation, and geographic detector to analyze the spatiotemporal pattern evolution of vegetable production at different scales, and explore the influencing factors of the spatiotemporal pattern evolution of vegetable production in different regions. The results showed that from 2002 to 2020,China's vegetable production showed a fluctuating growth trend, with significant regional differences in vegetable production. The yield in the central and southern regions was the highest, while the yield in the northeastern region was the lowest. The number of provinces with lower vegetable production has significantly decreased, and the national vegetable production center has gradually shifted from Henan to the southwest(Hubei)direction. The national vegetable production pattern basically conforms to the population density boundary line(Hu Huanyong Line),and the difference in vegetable production levels on both sides of the Hu Huanyong Line is gradually narrowing. The vegetable high-yield area is located in the Huang Huai Hai Plain with Shandong Province as the core and its surrounding provinces. There are significant differences in the influencing factors of spatial and temporal differentiation of vegetable yield in Chinese provinces. The influencing factors of vegetable production at the national level are basically the same as those in the eastern region, with socio-economic factors being the most important influencing factor, and there are significant differences compared to the western region. The natural geographical environment and modernization level of vegetable production in the western region have become the most important influencing factors. The research results can provide scientific basis for adjusting the spatial layout of vegetable production in China, fully leveraging the resource advantages of different regions, and promoting high-quality development of vegetable production.
