The expression and significance of IL-17,IL-22 in the skin lesions and serum of patients with bullous pemphigoid
Objective To investigate the expression levels of IL-17 and IL-22 in patients with bullous pemphigoid(BP)and explore their significance in the pathogenesis of BP.Methods Using immunohistochemical methods to detect the expression of IL-17 and IL-22 in the skin lesions of 41 BP patients and 25 normal skin tissue(the control group).Additionally, the ELISA method was employed to detect the expression of IL-17 and IL-22 in the serum of 27 BP patients and 25 healthy individuals. Results The expression of IL-17 and IL-22 in the skin lesions of BP patients were significantly higher than that in the control group, with statistically significant differences(P<0.01).Furthermore,a positive correlation was observed between the expression of IL-17 and IL-22 in the skin lesions of BP patients. The expression levels of IL-17 and IL-22 in the serum of BP patients were also higher than those in the control group, with statistically significant differences(P<0.01).A positive correlation was found between the expression of IL-17 and IL-22 in the serum of BP patients. Conclusions The expression levels of IL-17 and IL-22 are significantly elevated in both the serum and skin lesions of BP patients, suggesting their potential involvement in the pathogenesis of BP,possibly through a synergistic mechanism.Additionally, innate lymphoid cells 3(ILC3)may also be involved in the pathogenesis of BP.
