Advances in the pathogenesis and prognosis of drug-induced hypersensitivity syndrome
TDrug-induced hypersensitivity syndrome(DIHS),which is also called drug eruption with eosinophilia and systemic symptoms(DRESS),is one of the most severe adverse drug reactions.DIHS clinically presents as an extensive cutaneous rash with fever and lymphadenopathy, hematologic abnormalities and multiple organ involvement. In addition,It's usually accompanied with the re-activation of human herpesvirus-6(HHV-6)virus.Pathogenesis of DIHS has been linked to HHV-6 reactivation and immune reaction, and also related to genetic susceptibility.Chemokines play an important role in the progress. This review summarizes the progress in pathogenesis and prognosis of DIHS.
