Research progress on microneedling therapy for hair loss
Microneedling is a minimally invasive therapeutic technique that improves follicular status and promotes hair growth by stimulating the scalp to induce a post-injury self-repairing cascade response and promoting the release of growth factors and cytokines. The combination of microneedling with topical medications,platelet-rich plasma/platelet-rich fibrin(PRP/PRF),oral western and traditional Chinese medicine can significantly increase the effectiveness of hair loss treatment.Among them, the combination of microneedling with topical medications is the most common treatment option in clinical practice, while there are still relatively few clinical studies on other combined treatment, necessitating further research to substantiate their efficacy.Despite the inherent advantages of microneedling in the treatment of hair loss, its efficacy exhibits interindividual variability, necessitating tailored therapeutic interventions for patients.Overall, microneedling therapy in combination with other treatment modalities is of great value in improving hair loss and warrants further research and dissemination. This article reviews the application of microneedle therapy in treating hair loss and discusses the advantages and limitations of combinnation therapy.
