Progress in anti-inflammatory therapy of livedoid vasculopathy
Livedoid vasculopathy is a refractory cutaneous vascular disease.Clinically,it usually occurs in the ankle and lower extremities, with early manifestations of livedoid reticular and painful ulcers, followed by white atrophic scars in later stages.Typical histopathological manifestations of livedoid vasculopathy are occlusion of vessels in the dermis by fibrin deposition and intravascular thrombosis.Currently, the mainstream view is that livedoid vasculopathy is a thrombotic disease, anticoagulation is most commonly used. However, some patients with relapsed illness showed poor response to anticoagulation. In recent study,we found that lymphocytic vasculitis was present in some patients, suggesting that there is an inflammatory pathology underlying the disease.Anti-inflammatory therapy is also a common option for this disease. In this article,we briefly review the progress in anti-inflammatory treatment of livedoid vasculopathy.
