The clinical efficacy of wet-wrap therapy in the treatment of prurigo nodularis
Objective To investigate the efficacy of wet-wrap therapy in the treatment of prurigo nodularis(PN).Methods Sixty patients with PN were randomly divided into observation group and control group according to the random number table method,with each group consisting of 30 cases.The patients in the control group received routine topical medication,whereas patients in the observation group received the the identical topical treatment in conjunction with wet-wrap therapy administered twice daily.Following a one-week treatment period,the therapeutic outcomes between the two groups were compared.Results The patients in the observation group showed significant improvement in eczema area and severity index(EASI)score,total effective rate,pruritus severity and sleep quality score compared with the control group(P<0.05).Conclusion Wet-wrap therapy is effective and safe in the treatment of PN,significantly improving patients'quality of life.Therefore,it is worth further promoting in clinical practice.
