A case of pemphigus vegetans presenting as acrodermatitis continua:a case report
A 76-year-old male patient presented with recurrent ulcerations and erosions in the oral cavity,axillae,and perianal region for 10 years,as well as a pustule on the right toe for more than 15 days.Histopathological examination revealed pseudo-epitheliomatous hyperplasia,with significant infiltration of eosinophils and neutrophils,accompanied by abscess formation.The acantholysis and fissure formation were observed above the basal layer.In the dermis,there was extensive infiltration of neutrophils,eosinophils,and lymphocytes,along with vascular dilatation and congestion.The patient was diagnosed as pemphigus vegetans(Hallopeau type).The patient was treated with a combination of methylprednisolone and cyclosporine,resulting in improvement of the skin lesions.
