Objective To investigate the correlation between interleukin 17A(IL-17A)in peripheral blood and the se-verity of acne vulgaris, and its predictive value for acne scars. Methods From October 2022 to October 2023,a total of 130 patients with acne vulgaris who were treated at the Department of Dermatology of Anhui Provincial Hospital were di-vided into mild-to-moderate group(45 cases),severe group(40 cases),and extremely severe group(45 cases).Forty healthy examinees were selected as the control group.According to the severity of scar, the observation group was divided into non-scar group(25 cases),mild scar group(25 cases),moderate scar group(40 cases)and severe scar group(40 cases).IL-17A levels of peripheral blood were detected by Enzyme linked immunosorbent assay. Results The peripher-al blood IL-17A of mild and moderate group, severe group, and severe and extreme group in acne vulgaris patients were significantly higher than that of the healthy control group(P<0.05).The severity of acne was positively correlated with the level of IL-17A in peripheral blood(r=0.724,P<0.001).The levels of IL-17A in peripheral blood of patients with mild, moderate, and severe acne scars gradually increased and were significantly higher than the non-scar group(P<0.05).Spearman analysis showed that the severity of acne scars was positively correlated with the level of IL-17A in pe-ripheral blood(r=0.591,P<0.001).The sensitivity of peripheral blood IL-17A level in predicting the occurrence of ac-ne scars was 84.00%,and the specificity was 83.80%.Conclusion Peripheral blood IL-17A level is closely related to the severity of acne vulgaris and acne scars, and has good predictive value for acne scars.
